Day 4: Part of the reason I blog...

Day 4 of the linkup has us letting our readers know our favorite quote. Here is one of my favorites-

You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences."
~Gordon B. Hinckley, 2006

This was said by one of the past Prophets of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (aka the Mormons or LDS). I found it because not only do I know several people that are LDS, I too investigated the church for almost 2 years before going to law school. I wasn't baptized into the Church for a variety of reasons but some of my beliefs and views still are in alignment with the Church. I still think about it every now and then too.

This quote is one of the reasons I started a blog. You see, I blog for a very personal reason. I don't use it as a business or just to entertain people. When I first started blogging, I didn't even tell most people that I had a blog. I primarily used it to keep in touch with some of my Chicago people when I moved to Houston. My goal is to record my life- the good times and bad times. I used to scrapbook in college but it became too much of a hassle. I figured since I'm on my computer for most of the day, blogging was something that was easy for me to do. My hope is to one day turn my posts into an actual "book" but for now, they just sit out there in the internet world being viewed by all sorts of people.

Sometimes, I go back and read my posts from the beginning. I think about how much my life has changed and how lucky I am to have had some of the experiences and opportunities I have had. I truly am blessed even though I may not think so every single moment of the day. Plus I love stalking reading about other people's lives.

We've talked about this before so you know how similar we are with this :) I love that quote.
