Summer Time!

Well, I made it through my first year of law school. It was a rough year and I'm so glad it's over. I have some exciting plans for the summer too! For the first part of the summer, I'll be doing an internship working at a non-profit organization in the special education division. It's right up my alley being a former teacher so it should be a good learning experience. Today was my first day and I already have some exciting assignments to do.

The second part of the summer will be spent here~

You may be asking yourself where this fabulous place is?

Well, it's Madrid, Spain! I'm going to be doing a study abroad there for a month. I'm so excited about it. I'm also planning weekends trips to Barcelona and a few other places in Spain. I've only been overseas one other time and it was a blast. I'm also a little nervous because I don't speak spanish but I'm sure I'll manage to get by. I'm hoping to be able to update the blog with pictures while in there so everyone can see all the wonderful things I'm doing!

On a total sidenote- It's also about a million degrees here in Texas and I'm just about melting to death every time I go outside. It is SOOOOO HOT! I hope it is not this hot in Spain (although I think it usually is).

Bayou City Art Festival/ Houston International Festival

I've been trying really hard this semester to get out and do things around Houston. I was so stressed last semester and I think part of it was because all I did was school and work. So, with my dad living here, it has been so much easier to have someone to do things with. During the month of April, we went to the Bayou City Arts Festival in Memorial Park and the International Festival in downtown Houston. Sometimes, its just really nice to get out of the house and enjoy the wonderful weather that we've been having in Houston!

A little bit of Texas

My friend Kristin came to Houston for part of her Spring Break this year. I had so much fun showing her the life of a Texan. We went to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where we saw Brooks and Dunn. We also went to Space Center Houston to learn all about Nasa. I loved having her here and hope she comes back to visit soon!

Turtle Races!

I went to Chicago for Easter this year. While there, I went to go watch turtle races downtown. It was pretty funny and my turtle actually won one of the races. My turtle was number 4!

Kemah!

So I figured it was time to catch up on the blogging. I've been a total slacker lately (actually I've been really busy with school). Anyways, a couple of weekends ago, I spent the day with my dad out in Kemah on the Boardwalk. We ate dinner at Joe's Crab Shack, played carnival games, and just relaxed! I'm so lucky to have my dad working here in Houston. Having at least one member of my family around makes my life so much easier! Here are a few pictures to remember the day!
