Book Club at the Zoo!

This month, we read Modoc: The True Story of the Greatest Elephant that Ever Lived by Ralph Helfer. Since the book was about an elephant, we decided we would meet at the Houston Zoo to see the animals and discuss the book. It was a perfect way to spend a Saturday. We saw lots of different animals, including the baby elephants and the baby giraffes. We even got to eat lunch right next to the giraffe area. The morning was completed with a yummy serving of dippin dots! Yum!
Dippin Dots! Yummy!
And no trip to the Zoo is complete without a Texas Longhorn!

March Madness!

I joined a bracket this year for the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. I don't know anything about basketball, much less college basketball. I didn't even know they only have 2 halves instead of 4 quarters until last week. So I picked my teams primarily according to colors, mascots, the city the school is in, and just my general feeling about the school. I figured I was just going to give away my $10 to someone else because surely everyone else in the league knows more about basketball than I do. Well, I guess I chose some good teams because look who is in the lead! Just click on the link. Yep, that's right. I am in first place! I can't believe I am beating everyone else (and all the other people in the league know a lot about basketball). As of right now, I have either won the league or tied. I still have 560 points I can earn so I'm hoping at least one of my teams will win. If Kentucky beats UNC tonight, then I definitely win the tournament. I never thought I would get into this sort of thing but it is actually really fun and I can't stop watching the games! I'm already planning what I'm going to do with my $80. Perhaprs I'll use it to pay my electricity bill because it has been super hot here in Houston and the AC has been going non-stop :)

Neglected Blog No More!

I have been severely neglecting this blog lately. Must be because I have been super busy. The month of February was a rough month for me and I am so glad it is gone and done with. I had one really rough week and had some people be not so nice to me for no apparent reason. But I guess that is how life is and I moved on! In the 28 days of February, I had something planned every night of the week for about 26 of those days. It was crazy! A few things that happened in February-
- Snow Day from work and school (but there wasn't any snow)
- A baby shower for a friend
- The Symposium for the Journal I am on
- Family Mediation Training
- MPRE Review Course (an ethics test for lawyers)
- Barrister's Ball (aka law school prom)- which I was partly in charge of
- My old roommates wedding
- Book Club
- Houston Young Lawyers Meeting
- I also went to 9 mediations for a clinic I am in
- Worked at a law firm and at Williams Sonoma
- And managed to go to several Delta Zeta meetings to help the girls with Recruitment

This was one crazy month! March is a little better because I have Spring Break. I'm staying in Houston this year so I can work, do mediations, and catch up on life.

I'll post a few pictures of all my adventures when I have time (which will probably be next month!)
