Summer Vacation- Day 1 and 2

I took so many picture of my one week vacation, I'm going to have to do several posts to get it all in. Here is day 1 and 2 of our trip.
Mom and I left Geneva on June 22 at 5:30 in the morning. We spent the day driving to Harrisburg, PA. 12 hours in the car is a long time and we were exhausted when we got there.

We had to drive through the mountains to get there. I do not like driving through mountains. This is one of the tunnels I had to drive through to get to Harrisburg.

We spent the night at:

This is the view from the parking lot. Gorgeous!

The next day we drove to Hershey, Pa (about 10 minutes away from the hotel) and Chocolate World! We tasted chocolate, saw how it was made, took a tour of the town, and went to a museum all about Milton Hershey, the creator of Hershey's Chocolate. All of this in one day!

Where the chocolate is made!

Milton Hershey founded a school for orphans and lower income children. He left his $60 million fortune to the school when he died. Today, the school educates around 1,800 children.

Hershey Park- didn't get to go here but it looked like so much fun. I love amusement parks!

All the street lights in Hershey were Kisses!

At the end of the day, we drove 3 hours to Newark, NJ to spend the night before venturing off across the Hudson River to New York City!

I found you!

We lived in Pittsburgh for 3 years and drove through those tunnels on the PA turnpike many times. We know them well! I knew them before I read the caption!

I love the Hinckley quote about journaling. I may have to steal that for my blog, too. :)
