It's A Boy!

This past weekend, I helped my mom host a small ladies lunch for my future sister-in-law, Carly and my future nephew, Declan, who is due to arrive any day now. It was a last minute thing since I couldn't make the big baby shower but it was still a lot of fun and we were able to help finish out her registry and get her ready for Declan to be here!

We had it at Four Friends Tea Room in Pearland, TX. This place was so cute! It's a little cottage house and they had the table all set up with real tea cups and fancy glasses. We had yummy tea sandwiches and their tomato basil soup is some of the best I've had. And they let us bring in our own dessert. My friend, Lindsay, makes decorative cookies (for a great price) and she created the Cubs theme ones below. My brother is a hug Chicago Cubs fan and Declan's nursery is Cubs theme so I though it was only appropriate for us to give Cubs theme cookies as a party favor. Overall, I was pleased with the way it turned out. I wish I had taken more pictures but I was too busy enjoying the moment. I guess that's how life is supposed to be, right?

A little bit of country...

Since the beginning of March, I have been in full rodeo mode. I have been to 7 shows so far and have 5 more to go. I think it goes without saying that I am using my rodeo badge to it's fullest extent! It is so nice having free parking and then just getting to walk into the show and find an empty seat. My friends are also reaping the benefits of my hard work on the committee because I get to take a guest with me. So without further ado, here is my recap of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo part 1.

Eli Young and Chris Young were last week and I already posted those pics. See this post and this post for pics.

REO Speedwagon with my dad. He was in heaven and we had a fun Dad/ Daughter date. And for the band being in their 60s, they sure did rock out. They were actually really good!

Maroon 5- this show was sold out to the brim. I have never seen Reliant Stadium so crowded. Even the Standing Room Only sections were 6-10 people deep. But Adam Levine did put on quite a show. He played most of the hits. I'm an old school Maroon 5 fan and he played a few of the "classics." It was a fun time with my friend Lindsay. We sand our little hearts out!

Keith Urban- I met my coworker and her family for some carnival fun before we went into the show. We enjoyed a delicious corn dog, went to a wine tasting, saw a great concert, then ate turkey legs and fried dessert afterwards. I think I gained 5 pounds that night. But it was worth it. Keith Urban is one of my favs!

Hunter Hayes- I love his music but I didn't realize that I'd be among a bunch of screaming 13 year olds. I would equate Hunter Hayes to the country Justin Bieber. He has that effect on the teenagers. He was good but played a few too many guitar solos for my liking.

Tonight I'm going to Robin Thicke. And then I have Florida Georgia Line, Blake Shelton, Easton Corbin, The Band Perry, and Zac Brown Band to close out the HLSR. I may be dead from exhaustion and have gained 20 lbs by Sunday but it will have been worth it.

Wacky Weekend

Another weekend has come and gone and I am still exhausted. Last week was draining in every way so I was really looking forward to the weekend. Here's a little recap of all the fun times that were had

Friday: Dinner at Cheesecake Factory with the parents. I had a $17 gift card and they picked up the rest of the tab. Win for me!

Saturday: Vet appointment for Clark that cost me $422 and then Rodeo with my friend Jenn to see Chris Young. He was awesome and we got to sit really close.

Sunday: massage and then shopping for baby gifts with my mom. My brother's fiancee is having a baby in a few weeks so we went to get some last minute things. It is so overwhelming and crazy how much stuff is out there for the little bambinos. I'm glad I'm not the one having kids any time soon because man is it expensive!

Overall a pretty fun weekend! I'm off to Baton Rouge for work this week so I'm only in the office today and Friday. Yay for work trips! Excited to get away for a little bit!
