This weekend was fabulous! It was kind of a long weekend even though I had to work on Friday. Thursday was spent celebrating America's birthday! And I did so in a big way. A group of my friends got together at what is going to be my future home for a little celebrating. I made these yummy cake pops for the occasion!
I also had a few too many of these. Texas beer is the best!
We also played some games that may or may not have
involved consuming all of those yummy beverages...
I love this girl. We were roomies for 2 years and
will be back together in about 6 weeks!
My future home has a roof top terrace.
And we could see the Houston fireworks from it.
AMAZING!
Friday I went to work (with the other 3 people in my office that didn't take off). I left right at 5, did a little bit of shopping, took the dogs to the park, and then went out with a friend to Sherlocks to see some live music.
Saturday morning began my official half-marathon training.
2.5 miles in the hot, humid weather. I made the mistake and slept in.
Running at 10am in Houston is not a good idea.
Can you saw RED FACE!
I then spent the rest of the day at A Day in the Country.
I saw Brett Eldredge, Aaron Lewis, Joe Nichols, Easton Corbin, and the Eli Young Band.
It was HOT outside but thank goodness we had real seats under the covered part of the pavilion.
I will definitely be going to this show next year. It was fun times!
Brett Eldredge
Eli Young!
I have more pictures and some video but they are on my real camera.
(maybe I'll get around to that this week)
Sunday was spent doing homework and then going out for a little Sunday Funday.
One of the guys that met up with us created this yummy refreshing beverage.
Miller lite on ice with some lemons. So yummy!
And with that, the weekend was over. I loved having Thursday off and could get used to it. Too bad it's not happening every week. This week is going to be long and busy. And I'm going to try to catch up on the blogging.
What did you do this weekend???
